ARTIFICIAL STONE BALL FOR SOFTENING TEXTILE AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE: An artificial stone ball for softening textile and giving natural colors due to decoloration is provided, which has improved hardness, durability and abrasion-resistance compared with a conventional stone ball by using glass powder binding raw materials. CONSTITUTION: The artificial stone ball comprises 10-50wt.% of main material such as diatomaceous earth, perlite, fly ash, clay or mixture thereof, 40-80wt.% of glass powder as a binder such as soda lime silicate glass, lead glass, borosilicate glass or mixture thereof, 1-9.5wt.% of CaCO3 forming pores, and 0.5-9wt.% of NaOH. The stone ball is obtained by forming a mixture in a form of sphere, drying at room temperature and at 80-120deg.C and sintering at 680-750deg.C.
