PURPOSE: To provide an apparatus for sensing an outer coiling top part of coil, automatically cutting the tape in such a way that the tape is easily removed, clamping a tape adhered to outer diameter of the coil, thereby automatically removing the tape to protect workers from danger of safety accident and improve operation efficiency and productivity ultimately. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for removing tape adhered to top part of coil(100) comprises a base frame arranged adjacently to outer diameter of a coil rested on cradles; a tape cutting unit comprising a main frame(54) fixed to the base frame and extended toward the coil such that the main frame is rotated by a swing cylinder(60), a magnet roll(46) adhered to the coil, a rotary blade(34) for cutting the tape, blade fixing frames(40) for rotatably fixing the rotary blade, blade moving screws(28) to which the blade fixing frames are movably connected, and which are arranged by traversing the main frame, and a blade moving motor connected to the blade moving screws to drive the blade moving screws and fixed to the outer surface of the main frame; and a tape removal unit comprising a fixed frame fixed to the base frame and extended toward the coil such that the fixed frame is rotated by a swing cylinder, a moving frame fixed to the fixed frame such that the moving frame is slid through a rack and a pinion gear, and upper and lower grip plates disposed on a front part of the moving frame and elastically contacted with each other by being rotated around a shaft such that the upper and lower grip plates clamp cut tape by operation of the swing cylinder.
