<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for controlling circadian with DEC1 and DEC2 which are basic helix-loop-helix type transcription factors in suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and liver. <P>SOLUTION: This method for controlling transcriptive activity induced with CLOCK and BMAL1 through E box enhancer is characterized by using DEC1 and DEC2 which are basic helix-loop-helix type transcription factors. The method for controlling a promoting action with DBP on the adjustment of the circadian rhythm of cholesterol 7α-hydroxylase, sterol 12α-hydroxylase, and lanosterol 14-demethylation enzyme in rat liver is characterized by using basic helix-loop-helix transcription factors DEC2/SHARP1/BHLHB3. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
