<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color filter for a liquid crystal display in which the difference in the film thickness or the inclination angle between color pixels and between a frame part and a matrix part are decreased, and sufficient optical density is imparted to the frame part and the matrix part without forming an independent black matrix, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the filter. <P>SOLUTION: A black matrix 11 composed of the matrix part between the color pixels, and of the frame part 11B surrounding the display part is formed by using a photomask having a halftone part 1 and by stacking two colors at the time of forming color pixels of two colors out of a plurality of colors. The two colors are red and blue. The ratio of the film thickness of the red color layer to that of the blue color layer ranges 1.0:(1.25 to 0.5). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
