PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an ultrasonic mechanical scanning by connecting a mechanical scanning ultrasonic probe if necessary, to an ultrasonic inspection apparatus to which an electronic scanning ultrasonic probe is connected. SOLUTION: A connection adapter 50 used for connecting the mechanical scanning ultrasonic probe 30 to the ultrasonic inspection apparatus 1 to which the electronic scanning ultrasonic probe 10 is connected comprises a connection part 50P detachably connected to the ultrasonic inspection apparatus 1 and a connection part 50S detachably connected to a connector 34 of the mechanical scanning ultrasonic probe 30. One distribution cable connected to a contact C<SB>2</SB>on the connection part 50S side is branched on the way, and a branched cable 53 connected to contacts F<SB>1</SB>, F<SB>2</SB>, F<SB>3</SB>... F<SB>n</SB>is disposed on the connection part 50P side. In addition, a servo-circuit 51 and a scanning origin detecting circuit 52 are built in the connection adapter 50.
