<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily enlarge a bore of an engine for a motorcycle. <P>SOLUTION: A cylinder block 2 is removed from a crankcase 1 and a piston 10 is removed from a connecting rod 4. A cylinder block 2 having a cylinder bore 12 of larger diameter than diameter of a cylinder bore 12 of the removed cylinder block is prepared. A large diameter piston 10 for enlarged bore is attached to the connecting rod 4, and the cylinder block 2 is connected to the crankcase 1 with sliding the large diameter piston 10 in the large diameter cylinder bore 2. Since a lower end of a newly attached cylinder block 2 is positioned at an upper part than an upper end of the crankcase 1 and does not enter into the crankcase 1, and the large diameter piston 10 is formed short not to enter into the crankcase 1 under a condition where the same is at bottom dead center D, it is not necessary to disassembly the crankcase 1 and components therein.
