<p>An overflow sensing device for an indoor unit of an air conditioner is provided to prevent a lower portion of a fixing part from being dipped in condensed water for protecting the overflow sensing device from contacting impurities, thereby preventing malfunction of the overflow sensing device. An overflow sensing device for an indoor unit of an air conditioner includes a vertical movement part(100) for moving by buoyancy along a water level of condensed water(W) in the vertical direction, and a fixing part(200) fixed at a side of the indoor unit for guiding the movement direction of the vertical movement part, wherein a lower portion of the fixing part is positioned higher than a lower part of the vertical movement part. The vertical movement part has a float(120) generating buoyancy with respect to the condensed water, a magnetic force generating part(140) having a magnet(142) inside to generate magnetic force, and a supporting part(160) coupled with the float and the magnetic force generating part at upper and lower sides for supporting the float and the magnet with a predetermined distance from each other. The magnetic force generated by the magnet drives a reed switch(230) in the fixing part to generate an electric signal for stopping an outdoor unit from operating and restraining the flow of refrigerant so as to stop the generation of the condensed water.</p> |
