PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a composition for enhancing an immune response. SOLUTION: The method and composition for enhancing an immune response in a subject comprises administering an inhibitor of IL-13 or an inhibitor of an NK-T cell to the subject. This method can be used to prevent growth of a tumor in the subject (e.g., to inhibit tumor recurrence or metastasis). The method can also be used to enhance a response to a vaccine in a subject. The method is based in part on the discovery that administration of an inhibitor of IL-13 to a subject or disrupting NK-T cell function in a subject inhibits recurrence of the tumor.
