<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide chord signals with the effect of simulating a resonance phenomenon based on the pitch of the chord signals, thus preventing significant sense of incongruity from being produced, when controlling the characteristics of the effect. <P>SOLUTION: According to the detection of playing of a new chord by a trigger-detecting unit 22, a control unit 24 selects one of effect channels 14a to 14h that provides least discomfort which could arise when the providing of the effect is stopped. The control unit 24 supplies a sound signal of new playing to the effect channel selected, and reads from a parameter memory 28 a parameter for providing an effect that has the characteristic that matches the pitch of the playing of a new chord detected by a pitch-detecting unit 20 so as to control, based on the parameter read the characteristic of the effect provided by the effect channel selected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
