PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform quick recovery processing against a paper jam and increase productivity.

SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus comprises: an image forming part for forming an image on paper; a sensor disposed at each paper feeding path that is a path for paper for detecting an occurrence of a paper jam in the paper feeding path; a specifying part 301 for specifying a paper feeding path where a sensor that detected the paper jam is disposed, and specifying a paper feeding tray in which the paper that is fed to the paper feeding path where a paper jam has occurred is stored; a connection determination part 302 for determining whether or not a paper feeding tray other than the paper feeding tray in which the paper that is fed to the paper feeding path where a paper jam occurred is stored is connected to a laser printer 1; a paper re-feeding determination part 303 for determining whether or not paper re-feeding, that is, feeding paper from the other paper feeding tray to the image forming part is possible, based on the result of the determination by the connection determination part 302 and the specified paper feeding path where the paper jam has occurred; and a paper feeding part 305 for feeding paper stored in the other paper feeding tray to the image forming part when paper re-feeding is possible.
