<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To certainly detect presence of a vehicle even under a situation that a pair of lights cannot be extracted, in a vehicle detection device detecting another vehicle at night. <P>SOLUTION: In a light controller, group vehicles comprising a plurality of other vehicles are detected in group vehicles detection processing. Here, inside an imaged image by a forward camera, a first area having a luminance of a preset first threshold value or above is extracted (S220), a second area having a luminance that is not less than a second threshold which is set to be less than the first threshold is extracted from the imaged image (S230), the number of the first areas in the extracted second area is counted (S240), and the effect that the other vehicle is present is outputted, when a count result is two or above (S250). Thus, as is described above, a reflection object and a light source can be distinguished, and in particular, the lights of the vehicle observed, in a state where the light sources are close to each other, can be detected properly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
