The present invention relates to a method to control vibrations of a machine tool, capable of determining whether chatter vibrations occur from vibration data of a machine tool or not. The method includes: a step of calculating a first vibration waveform number (N1) at a driving RPM of the machine tool and a second vibration waveform number (N2) at a maximum allowable RPM, which are numbers of vibration waveforms per revolution indicated on the surface of an object, based on the vibration data; a step of calculating at least two optimal RPMs between the first vibration waveform number (N1) and the second vibration waveform number (N2) if the second vibration waveform number (N2) is not less than a first selection value; a step of setting multiple sampling RPMs divided into multiple sections between the two optimal RPMs; and a step of determining an avoidance RPM to avoid the chatter vibrations among the sampling RPMs.
