PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the size of a page memory needed to store image data.SOLUTION: When an image processing part 116 performs image processing on image data, a free area "e" as large as a minimum compression size of sub-band data which needs to be processed is added between sub-band data (1-8, 2-8, etc.) which needs to be subjected to, for example, ruled-line processing as treatment processing and next sub-band data (2-1 etc.) following the sub-band data, and then temporarily stored in a page memory 134a. After band data in band units are read out of the page memory 134a and the sub-band data which needs to be subjected to the treatment processing is rewritten into data to be used for the treatment processing, the data is overwritten to the region, where the read band data is stored, of the page memory 134a.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4 |
