PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring system capable of easily identifying whether or not a monitoring area or the operation condition of area monitoring has been changed.SOLUTION: A monitoring system includes: setting data generation means for generating setting data consisting of area setting information for designating a monitoring area and operation setting information for designating an operation condition for area monitoring on the basis of a user operation; registration setting storage means for storing the setting data as registration setting data; intrusion detection means for detecting an intruder in the monitoring area on the basis of the registration setting data, and for generating a stop signal for stopping the operation of external equipment; check code generation means for generating a check code on the basis of the registration setting data; and check code display means for displaying the check code. Registration setting storage means is configured to, when new setting data are generated, update the registration setting data by the setting data.
