The invention relates to a method for processing a mixture of feathers, plumage and down of birds, in particular ducks and/or geese, with a view to sorting the components, characterised in that said method is carried out on a dampened mixture, and in that the method comprises a first step which involves subjecting said dampened mixture to an ascending air flow in order to separate the components, said mixture being mixed during said first step. The apparatus for implementing said method comprises a single sorting column (1) which is made of metal and is provided, in the lower portion thereof, with air supply means (4) and mixing means (2), and, in the upper portion thereof, with at least one discharge outlet (5). |
