PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an on-vehicle unit and on-vehicle unit diagnosis system capable of accurately determining whether the system of an on-vehicle unit is normally operated.SOLUTION: Each on-vehicle unit included in an on-vehicle unit diagnosis system transmits index data indicating the operation state of a control section 11 of a self terminal to other on-vehicle units (defined as circumferential on-vehicle units) present in the circumference of the self terminal by vehicle-to-vehicle communication and also receives index data transmitted from the circumferential on-vehicle units. A normal range determination section F6 successively determines self terminal diagnosis reference for determining whether the control section 11 of the self terminal is normally operated through the use of index data received from the circumferential on-vehicle units. A self terminal diagnosis section F7 determines whether the control section 11 of the self terminal is normally operated through the use of the self terminal diagnosis reference determined by the normal range determination section F6.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
