The present invention provides a short arc type flash lamp having sealed both ends, including a pair of main electrodes and a start assistant electrode in a lighting tube. A core of a first main electrode is sealed and drawn out from the lighting tube in a first sealing tube of the lighting tube, and a sealing glass tube is welded in a second sealing tube. In the sealing glass tube, a core of the second main electrode is sealed and drawn out from the lighting tube. When a process to weld the second sealing tube and the sealing glass tube, a correct position of an inner and an external lead, a metal film and so on of the starting assistant electrode is acquired, so a structure capable of simplifying a sealing and welding process is provided. To this end, a first sealing glass member is welded on the outer circumferential surface of a welding area with respect to the second sealing tube in the sealing glass tube in order to cover the inner and the outer lead, and the metal film. |
