PURPOSE:To reduce interference and to effectively use the frequency by receiving a speech signal or a control signal of other base station so as to reduce transmission power according to the propagation state from the reception level. CONSTITUTION:A signal received by an antenna 21 and a TDMA receiver 22 is demodulated by a demodulator 23. The demodulator 23 outputs a signal used to detect an idle slot not used for communication in a time division signal and a traffic detector 24 detects an idle slot to discriminate a traffic. Based on the result of discrimination, the transmission power of a transmitter 27 is controlled according to a control signal of a transmission power controller 25 controlling the transmission power based on the result of decision. Moreover, as an example of modification, the traffic detector 24 detects traffic by detecting the position registration number of the control signal. Thus, the propagation characteristic of the radio wave changing depending on the traffic volume or seasons is detected and the transmission power is controlled based on the information. |
