PURPOSE:To eliminate an error in image formation, and improve a convenience for use by providing an oscillation arm having a sheet feed cassette at one end and the other end rotatably supported, and oscillating the cassette within the range of a sheet feed standby position to a cassette rotation position. CONSTITUTION:A cassette mounting table 16 having cassette mounting pins 15 on top is so supported on a travel plate 18 as to be freely rotatable. A segment type gear 19 is provided, roughly ranging over the semi-circle of the table 16, and arrangement is so made that a worm 21 fitted to the rotating shaft of a motor 20a is geared with the segment type gear 19. Also, motor torque is transmitted to a gear 23 via gears 25 and 24, and the travel plate 18 is caused to move about the motor rotating shaft as a center of rotation, until the cassette moves to the position A where the sheet feed side of the cassette coincides with a home position. When a sensor detects the arrival of the cassette at the position A, a solenoid is turned off and the upper end of an arm is pressed to a presser plate with the energizing force of a spring, and a sheet is kept in contact with a feed roller. As a result, sheet feed starts, as soon as the sheet feed roller is actuated. |
