1,093,388. Moulding machines. CRONING & CO. June 17, 1965 [July 25, 1964]. No. 25704/65. Heading B3F. A machine for moulding shell moulds and cores, comprises a displaceable mould part carrier I and a fixed mould part carrier 2, mounted on a common horizontal axis. The carrier 1 is movable towards and away from the fixed carrier by fluid means 4 to effect opening and closing of the mould. When the mould parts are in the closed position they are held in abutment by a toggle mechanism 6 actuated by fluid means 9. Each mould part carrier which includes a heater plate (13), Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown) is mounted in a bearing block 5 and is rotatable therein about the common horizontal axis. In operation, the mould parts are closed and granular mould material is blown or sprayed by known means mould to form the shell or core. During the blowing and setting operations the mould carriers are held against rotation by locking pins 19 located in the respective bearing blocks. When the working operation has been completed the locking pins 19 are removed and the mould and carriers are rocked about the horizontal axis to remove any surplus moulding material. The rocking may be effected manually or by mechanical means. Means 14 are provided for ejecting the finished mould or core. The machine may include more than two mould part carriers. |
