The window construction comprises a moving frame 2 with an outer frame consisting of vertical and horizontal outer profiles 4, 5 and with an inner frame 12 consisting of an inner profile 12 and provided with a thermopane 3. The outer profile 4, 5 is essentially an open, U-shaped profile with two longitudinal, essentially parallel main flanges 13, 14. The inner profile 11 projects in with a longitudinal body portion and fits between the main flanges 13, 14. Associated with a body portion is a strip which runs parallel to the latter and, for bearing against the pane 3, extends around one main flange 14 in a bent shape. The body portion is surrounded by the flanges of the outer profile, in which way a sandwich construction of great strength is produced. The body portion can be displaced to different depths towards the bottom of the U in the outer profile, in which way the window frame 2 can be easily and continuously adapted to different pane thicknesses or other panels 3. <IMAGE>
