The electron gun for CRT comprising a cathode, a control electrode, a screen electrode, a plurality of focus electrodes, a anode electrode, a shield cup and a glass, improves the resolution of image by minimizing the thermal deformation of shield cup, due to the external magnetic field. The means for decreasing the eddy current radius is formed at the surface of shield cup to minimize the heat generation. The through hole formed at shield cup, also, prevents the thermal deformation and the thermal drift by external magnetic field.
