A mounting for a frame 22 carrying one or more mechanisms for shearing molten glass comprises a pivot post 24 mounted vertically on the side of the spout casing 14 by means of bracket 32 and bolts 34 fixed in T-section slots in the arcuate gibs 18 and 20. The pivot comprises a cantilevered pivot post bracket 26 which is bolted to the frame 22 and carries an upstanding post 28 rotatably received in a cylindrical sleeve 30. The pivot post is restrained from axial movement by a cap structure 36 at the upper end of the sleeve 30 together with a rotatable, reversible ratchet device 38 and a threaded shaft 40 received in the top of the pivot post 28. This construction allows the vertical position of the frame 22 to be adjusted and alterations to this adjustment are prevented by the radially extending pin 44 carried by the post 28 and engaging in slots 42 in the side walls of sleeve 30. A toggle clamp 50 also mounted on gibs 18 and 20 by a support bracket 52 serves to fix the frame in its operative position beneath the outlet spout (16) from which it may be swung on the pivot mounting. |
