The invention comprises metallic derivatives of polycondensates of epichlorhydrin with amines, which are prepared by reacting the polycondensate with a salt or alkoxide of a metals of Groups I-IV, VII or VIII of the Periodic Table, in a solvent for both reactants, e.g. water, an alcohol, an ether, or a hydro-carbon, or a mixture of these, at a temperature between room temperature and the boiling point of the solvent. The precipitate is filtered off or centrifuged. In examples derivatives are formed from a n - octadecylamine/epichlorhydrin/piperazine polycondensate and ZnCl2, TiCl3, Pb(NO3)2, FeCl3, MnCl2, AgNO3 or Al(OC3H7)3, from a n-dodecylamine/epichlor-hydrin/piperazine polycondensate and Th(NO3)4, and from a diglycidypiperazine/n-octadecyl-amine/piperazine polycondensate and Ce2(SO4)3, in isoprapanol, isopropanol-methanol or methanol-water as solvent. |
