A process for a long storage of mushroom, Agaricus campestris comprises: (a) packing fresh mushroom in a paper box with polyethylene; (b) irradiating 2-3 kGy of CO-60 gamma ray into the packed mushroom. The CO-60 gamma ray irradiated mushroom preserves for a long time and has a good taste.
