Removal of thermoplastic moulds from cast resin forms by local hot air melting of the mould Partic. applicable to the manufacture of resin castings for applications such as support insulators, where the mould is in the form of a blow-moulded thermoplastic sleeve. A line of hot air jets is applied to the required split line of the mould, when the local melting allows the sleeve to be parted. A line of such jets, arranged in a shape corresponding to the profile of the mould, is arranged either side of the object.
