1288270 Circular looms ED FERREIRINHA & IRMAO MOTORES E MAQUINAS EFI SARL 10 Nov 1969 [10 Dec 1968] 54810/ 69 Heading D1E In a circular loom having magnetic means for driving the shuttle 1 through the shed, the spool holder of the shuttle comprises two spaced coaxial cylinders 4 rotated by contact with rollers 6 on the magnetic drive arm 7 and the weft thread spool 11 is mounted coaxially between the cylinders 4 so as to be rotatable independently of the rotation of the cylinders and in dependence merely upon the withdrawal of the thread from the spool. The shuttle 1 may be held against the drive arm 7 by a permant magnet 9 or by an electromagnet. The spool 11 is braked by a brake 19 which is held on by a spring 16 when the shuttle is stationary and is released by centrifugal force when the shuttle is in motion. A roller 20 on the shuttle frame 1 contacts a ring 21 arranged outside the outer row of warps to prevent the shuttle frame damaging the warps during its motion.
