The roller 23 is rotatable about shaft 31 against the action of a brake 25 such that, upon rotation of a drive roller 24, tension produced in belt 22 raises roller 23 into contact with the bottommost card whereupon the action of the brake is overcome and further rotation of drive roller 24 rotates roller 23 and moves belt 22 to feed a card. A spring 42 restores roller 23 to its position of non-engagement upon termination of the drive to roller 24 by magnetic clutch 27. Throat knife 17 prevents separation of more than a single card. The separated card is removed by rollers 19 and 20. |
