Brassiere cup or other lingerie details composed of thermoplastic man-made fibres can be permanently shaped by application of heat and then cooling to permanently set them as required. The brassiere cups are contacted with a male mould on one side only, the mould coupled to a heat source which is then disconnected to allow the cups to cool still in shaping contact with the mould. The mould should comprise a thin copper component to be lowered from above on a machine frame, a pair of moulds provided to shape both cups at once. The heat source can be a metal block with inserted heaters which has shaping components adapted to the mould on one side and completely filling the mould interior. |
