VISSERS NV 29 Sept 1969 [3 Oct 1968] 47665/69 Heading A1F A mowing machine which can be connected to a tractor comprises mowing discs 1 carrying knifes 2 for rotation about a shaft 3, a rotor 10 which has projections 12 defining with the hood 11 a crop flow channel 13. Crop cut by the discs 1 enters the flow channel 13 and is accelerated by the projections 12 to the same speed as the rotor 10 owing to the convergence of the channel 13, and is discharged into the delivery channel 19 at this same speed. Alternatively the rotor 10 may be of polygonal form to obviate the use of projections 12. |
