The pliers have pivoting jaws with tools for pressing bosses into the walls of a branch pipe for fitting to a main one at a predetermined distance, from the pipe end, so that it is inserted for the correct distance into the union while soldering into place. One of the jaws (1, 3) has a protrusion (6) on the inner face, opposites a mating hole or recess (7) in the other jaw. A curved plate (8) is fixed to one of the jaws, its convex surface being towards their free ends. The centre of the curve of the plate can be situated on the centre line between the jaws and the handles (2, 4) when seen from the side. |
