<p>At the edges of the shape which contact the welt or waistband, during dyeing, the shape has a sieve-like surface which is permeable to dye liquor and which conforms to the outline and cross-section of the plate. Preferably, the surface is a fabric or mesh, in a recess in the plate, with a shank inserted into a slot in the plate and retained in it by pressing the slot sides together.</p> |
