The safety switch for vehicle collision protection has a collision sensor which operates on a Bowden cable linked to an isolating switch to disconnect the live terminal of the battery in a collision. The isolation switch is improved by including a cut-off switch for the field coil of the generator so that a rapid isolation of all the electric circuits is ensured in a collision, with a reduction in fire risk. The impact sensor has a shaft which is pressed into a housing and which links to the cable drive via a roller at the front of the housing. This ensures that the impact force is changed to a tension force in the cable. |
