Solid materials are stuck together using a molten thermoplast as adhesive and allowing the molten thermoplast to cool in contact with at least one of the materials to be joined together, where the melt adhesive consists of copolymers of 10-70 wt.% styrene, 30-90 wt.% esters of acrylic and/or methacrylic acid with primary and/or secondary unsatd. monohydric alcohols with 3-12C and 1-15 wt.% acrylamide and optionally further polar hydrophilic ethylenically unsatd. compds., and wherein the melt adhesive is a reaction product of above-mentioned copolymer with 0.01-1 wt.% HCHO or compds. which release HCHO.
