Continuously operating fibreboard or chipboard press comprises two horizontal endless chains, facing one another. - Each chain consists of rectangular panels hinged end-to-end, the two facing lengths running over sets of driven rolls. - The inner face of each panel has a wearing plate, capable of limited sliding in the direction of travel. - Means are provided for restoring the wearing plates to their initial position after they leave the pressing region. - System avoids use of easily broken fixing screws.
