In a modification of the invention described in Specification 960,082 in which thermoplastic granules are sintered between two fibrous carrier sheets to form a microporous layer, an embossing sheet or facing sheet is incorporated between the thermoplastic granules and one or both of the carrier sheets, both the carrier sheets and the embossing sheets being removed after the laminate has been cooled. The resultant product comprises a microporous layer embossed on one or both surfaces with or without a fabric bonded to one or both surfaces. Specification 976,843 also is referred to. |
