<p>Conventional electroluminescent display element with a moisture proof, optically transparent front plate carrying successively a transparent conductive film (e.g. SnO2), an electroluminescent layer, a second conductive layer and a moisture and water vapour proof layer esp. of wax with a micro-crystalline structure e.g. a highly branched cycloaliphatic wax. Device life is increased by a factor of at least 10 e.g. from 100-500 hrs. to over 5000 hrs.</p> |
