A tamper-proof capsule of resilient material, e.g. plastics, comprises a rim 1 and lip 3 which engage the neck A of a bottle or other receptacle, and two projections 4 which under-lie the beading a. An extension 5 is provided on the rim 1, and to the bottom of the rim is attached a band 7 by a series of bridging pieces 6. Coincident with the extension 5, the band 7 is provided with a fastener 8 held to the band by bridging pieces 9, 10. The capsule is forced into position on the bottle, and in order to remove it, the fastener 8 is pulled, tearing the bridging pieces 6, 9, 10, whereupon the capsule is levered off by means of the extension 5. The bridging pieces 6 may be replaced by a thin continuous film, and part of the band 7 can be arranged to under-lie an extension on the neck of the bottle. |
