PURPOSE:To provide the optical loop memory with which the light intensity of the signal light to be stored is constant and which has sufficient memory holding time, has an excellent response characteristic and is free from the waiting time for erasing signal light. CONSTITUTION:The signal light from a fiber 1 is coupled via an optical coupler 2 to a resonator loop 3. A threshold element 5, an isolator 6, an optical amplifier 4, and a wavelength filter 7 are disposed to this loop 3. The light from which noises are removed by the threshold element 5 is amplified by the optical amplifier 4 and, therefore, the signal light which is constant in the intensity of the signal light and is stored with good S/N is maintained. |
