PURPOSE:To prevent a carrying belt from being deformed caused by a thermal effect of a photosensitive drum, to enable the contact supporting of a transfer material by the carrying belt, to prevent the occurrence of jam and the deterioration of image quality and to always obtain an image with high quality by moving the carrying belt within a prescribed time by a prescribed distance or above with respect to the photosensitive drum under a state that an image forming device is stopped. CONSTITUTION:When the carrying belt 26 is set under a still state, it receives the thermal effect from the photosensitive drum 11 and it is deformed. Besides, the various kinds of adverse effects are exerted on an image forming action. As the countermeasure thereof, the belt 26 is constituted so as to be moved in one direction by the distance L or above within the still time W from the stopping time thereof when the device is stopped because the image forming action is finished and the belt 26 is stopped with respect to the drum 11 in the case that the belt 26 which is brought into contact with the drum 11 in the still time W is deformed in the area of the length L thereof when the belt 26 is set under the still state. |
