Heat treatment retort or similar is fitted with claws on which the charge or a support for it is placed. The claws are fitted into locating recesses in the retort shell. In the prefd. design the claws are provided with a flange, which is fitted into the relevant recess and welded to the shell. The design achieves better load distribution on the shell with consequent increased service life.
