The rocker switch assembly consists of a hinged plate (5) with a restoring spring (28). Near the middle of the underside of the plate, there is a bearing for a trip cam (6) (7). The cam is spring loaded (11) so that it is biassed to the centre position. The switch lever (9) is constructed from a single piece of insulating material and is pivotted about its centre. The upper, widened out part of the lever has outer stop faces (43) which operate in conjuction with stop faces on the trip cam (42) and are in closed proximity to them in one or other of the operated positions of the switch. The lower end of the lever has a spring-loaded ball-bearing (22) which operates the contact bar (23). Very little travel of the finger plate is required to operate the switch. |
