<p>1315465 Surgical dressings KIMBERLYCLARK CORP 19 April 1971 ]24 Feb 1970] 22276/71 Heading A5R [Also in Division D1] A flushable wrapper for a sanitary napkin, diaper, bandage or similar absorbent pad is obtained by preparing an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol and a mixture of boric acid, water and sodium bicarbonate, adding the mixture to the solution, treating a non-woven web which is to form the wrapper with the solution and heating. The solution may contain a plasticizer for polyvinyl alcohol e.g. 2, 2'-oxydiethanol, polyethylene glycol, methoxy polyethylene glycol, polypropyleneglycol 1, 2-propanediol, glycerine, 1, 5-pentanediol and 1, 2, 6-hexanetriol. The webs treated may be of regenerated cellulose, natural cellulose and synthetic materials.</p> |
