Yarn starts are inserted pneumatically into yarn guide tubes without the aid of suction in double wire twisting spindles provided with yarn brakes adjacent the guide tubes in that the yarn starts are held adjacent the upper end of the rotating spindles which are braked as soon as the yarn start leaves the lap disc.
