Slice material (e.g., turkey slices) is loaded onto a loading tray backed up by a stripper bar. Both of these elements are projected into an empty horizontal mold, first the tray is retracted and then the stripper bar, leaving the slice material in the mold. The mold is then brought to a vertical position, filled with liquid (e.g., gravy) and the product aggregate is immersion frozen in the mold.
