1448982 Securing railway rails MOLYNEUX RAIL CLIPS Ltd 10 Sept 1973 [12 Sept 1972] 42287/72 Heading E1G In a rail clip and anchorage combination the anchorage 6-10 has a passageway 4 receiving the upper arm 2 of a U-shaped bar clip 1 whose lower arm 3 projects to bear on a rail flange 14, the passageway in use engaging the upper arm at two positions spaced along and on opposite sides of the arm, withdrawal of the clip being prevented by cooperating means 17 and twisting about the upper arm axis being restrained by interengagement of the lower arm and the anchorage. As shown the passageway 4 extends transverse to the rail axis, is tapered, and slopes down towards an independent passageway 8 for the lower arm 3, the arm 2 having a flat 18 and a snap-post locking tip 17 while the arm 3 has a leading taper 20 and a flat 19 bearing on an insulator 15. |
