A plasma discharge panel suitable is for use of facsimile transmission for reproduction on a photo-sensitive medium. The panel comprises a rear plate (11) becoming an array of parallel cathodes (12). The cathodes are superposed by oscilating elements (14) arranged perpendicularly to the cathodes. These elements (14) are sandwiched by a front plate (21) of heat resistant glass. The front plate bears anodes (22) arranged parallel to the isolating element and perpendicularly to the cathodes (12). A peripheral seal (31) provides a hermetic chamber filled with a low pressure gas. Plasma discharges control signals are input on lines and generated light is emitted through an array of apertures in teh anodes.
