A (moulding) press, partic. for producing contact lenses, comprising a mould and top tool, has three cylindrical parts, one above the other, with several stepped bores in the middle part of the press frame system, each taking one mould and one top tool and then moving horizontally into the lower part of the press. One press can be used to produce various thicknesses of lens, and accurately measuring the mould charge is unnecessary as excess material is squeezed out.
