The valve is used to control and regulate a hydraulic pressure feed, utilising a pivoting flap obturator (18) on a radial inlet (14) to a chamber (10) which has an axial outlet (15). The shallow chamber has a hollow circular horizontal section, incorporating the outlet (15) in a horizontal roof (13), and admitting the inlet through the cylindrical wall (11). A tapered flap obturator (18) is secured by a vertical pin (19) one end, and is located by an inlet rebate (21), and aligning with a chamber tangent when closed. As the flap progressively restricts the inlet aperture so the vortex effect in the chamber is increased with associated rises in energy-dissipation due to friction between concentric layers (F3).
