<p>PURPOSE:To form an ultra-thin film of a polymer having low tensile strength, by a method wherein a polymer solution is discharged onto a water surface at a constant speed and the formed ultra-thin film is taken up by a rotary roller in contact with the water surface. CONSTITUTION:A solution of polydimethylsiloxane in benzene is stored in a tank 4 and continuously discharged onto a water surface in a water tank 9 from a dot-like discharge port 6 through a conduit 5. The solide film grown on the water surface is taken up on the surface of a roller 3 rotating at a constant speed and, on the other hand, a porous film 7 having a pore size of about 0.5mu or less is supplied in contact with the roller 3 by using a roller 2 as the guide and the solid film adhered onto the roller 3 is transferred to the porous film 7 to be taken up a roller 11. As the porous film 7, a Millipore filter membrane or Duragard can be used. By this method, from a polydimethylsiloxane material which has been believed to be difficultly formed into an ultra-thin film, a thin film with thickness of 0.5mu or less can be continuously prepared.</p> |
